Porto

IMG_0112Long story short- Porto was absolutely beautiful and I wish we were still there. Everywhere you turned looked exactly like a post card. We explored the city’s narrow streets, tried Port wine, walked along the river, and took a nose dive into Portuguese food- more on Francesinha later! (The Daily Meal included it on their 12 Life Changing Sandwiches You’ve Never Heard Of, so get excited.)
We took a three and a half hour bus ride from Lisbon to Porto, situated on the coast of northwest Portugal. We spent two mostly rainy days in the city, with a big burst of sun right before we got back on the bus to Lisbon. Porto’s historic city center is one of the oldest in Europe and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
I’ll let the photos below speak for themselves.
